The sequel to the mega-hit game that millions of people have been waiting for, Just Cause 2, is thrilling from start to finish. It actually stands as an improvement over the first installment of the series.

Just Cause 2

Free to explore the vastness of Panau Island with the directive to take out a vicious dictator, Just Cause 2 is all about high-flying excitement, huge explosions, and a cool story line that is more like a movie than a video game. It’s also a highly-detailed game that is not suitable for the occasional gamer with a bottom-shelf PC. This is a legitimate, graphics-intense game for new-age GPUs, and it requires at least a mid-level PC to properly experience it.

Just Cause 2 takes a page out of other open-world games like GTA and Skyrim in that you are free to roam around. The majority of the missions are not timed, so you needn't be in a hurry. The best way to get a feel for the game is to truly explore the landscape. Scope out enemies and learn their patterns by putting them on a clock, and get to know where landmarks are located. This is the type of game that enthusiasts love. It’s not just a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants action game; you get to put some strategy into it.

Features of Just Cause 2

The first feature that really catches your eye, literally, is the highly-detailed landscape. You’ll need a decent GPU to experience the colors and textures, but they definitely don’t disappoint. The graphics are on par with a console game or a high-end PC game. And since Just Cause 2 ranks as a mid-level PC game, the superb graphics are a nice surprise.

The next cool feature is the combination tool/weapon set. Not only do you get a variety of guns that Sylvester Stallone would be jealous of, but you also get a grappling hook that allows you to climb practically anything in the world. And if you get in a tight situation while exploring higher altitudes, you can make a quick escape by using a parachute.

The best feature, however, is the actual mission setup. Since you are charged with overthrowing a dictator, the ongoing mission is to cause as much chaos as possible. Blowing thing up, shooting soldiers, crashing things and wreaking havoc – this is how you successfully complete the missions in the game.
